East Calendar

On the eastern (lunar) calendar
It is believed that this is the Chinese calendar, but the same calendar used in Japan, and Korea.
Calendar of ancient China has managed to combine a dependence of the Earth, Jupiter and the Moon around the Sun. It is from here and went to a 12-year cycle of change years. And each year, was given a certain resemblance to the animal. Chinese calendar - it's a dozen cosmic influences that affect a person's character and determines its way of life.
The basis of the calendar is the period of the largest of the planets in the solar system - Jupiter. That year, Jupiter is 12 Earth years. Moreover, again according to the ancient Chinese sages, there are five primary elements: fire, sky (wood), metal, earth and water, which gave its response to each character. Each element has its own color: Wood (blue), Fire (red), earth (yellow) Metal (white) Water (black).
Thus, in the East (lunar) calendar, which gives each year a symbol of animal disguise - rat, ox (buffalo), tiger, rabbit (rabbit, cat), dragon, snake, horse, sheep (sheep, goat), monkey, rooster, dog and pig (wild boar), we obtain a cycle of 12 years, the full cycle (repetition, in conjunction also with the same symbols of the primary elements) is completed in 60 years. Then a new cycle begins.
Each year, more than 60-year cycle has a characteristic combination of conventional animal - the governor, and color symbolism, which is determined by the last digit of the coming year. Years, whose serial numbers ending in "0", "1" (2000, 2001, etc.) are white and are subject to the elements, "Jin" ("Metal"). Years ending in "2" and "3" are defined as black and are subject to the elements, "Shui" ("water"). If the last digit of the year - "4" and "5", this year the blue, which are subject to the element of "mu" ("tree"). The numbers "6" and "7" make the color red, and subordinate, the elements of his "ho" ("fire"). And finally, years ending in "8" and "9", recognized by the yellow and control the elements "thoo" ("Eath").
There is a legend about how the Jade Emperor - the presiding deity of the pantheon Taoist, lord of the heavens - chose twelve animals, each of which governs a year once in twelve years. The servants brought him to 12 animals.

Rat, fearing that go unnoticed, jumped on the back of a buffalo and began to play the flute. The emperor was so pleased this unusual animal, that he gave him the first place. The second place was the emperor gave the buffalo - in fact he was so generous that it allowed the rat to sit on his back. Tiger for his brave appearance was in third place, and the rabbit for its soft white fur got fourth place. The emperor decided that the dragon looks like a powerful snake with legs, and put it in fifth place. Snake for his flexible body was in sixth place, the horse - seventh in an elegant posture, and sheep - the eighth for strong horns. Agile and restless monkey got ninth place for beautiful rooster feathers - the tenth, and vigilant guard dog - eleventh. The pig was at the end, it was perhaps not as interesting as the other animals, but still got to heaven and so was awarded last place.
Another legend says that once the Buddha was invited to visit on New Year's Eve all the animals that inhabit the earth. Those who come first to him to congratulate and express my respect, he promised to donate for a year, which will continue to be called by their names. The mouse was in front of everyone. Behind her came the bull, then a tiger, cat, dragon, snake, horse, goat, monkey, rooster, dog. Boar came twelfth.
Accordingly, the various peoples in some cases, the animal-protector is called differently.
Having taken possession of his own year, each animal as it gave him the typical features of his character, and the man found the properties inherent to the animal, in which year he was born.
Briefly the properties of people born in the year, the East is characterized as follows:
